The Public Library Development Team annually collects statistics from the state's public libraries. Excel files of the statistics for 1996-2010 are listed below. (Statistics since 2003 are also available in PDF as noted.)

The Excel files of Wisconsin statistics include over 115 data elements grouped by general categories. Most of the categories are further defined. For example "collection" information includes volumes owned, added, A-V, periodicals, etc. Below are the general data elements. See the Wisconsin Public Library Annual Report Instructions for detailed definitions of all the data elements.
